PURPOSE: To properly achieve heat cooking irrespective of variations of the sensitivity of a photosensor for detecting the degree of burning on the surface of an object to be cooked.
CONSTITUTION: There are provided an oven lamp 6 and a light guide cylinder portion 7 on the side wall of a heating chamber 2. A CDS 8 is disposed on the interior wall of the light guide cylinder 7 and first and second correction lamps 10, 11 are disposed in the vicinity of the CDS 8. Projection illuminance of the second correction lamp 11 to the CDS 8 is set to be larger than that of the first projection lamp 10 by predetermined illuminance. Prior to execution of heating cooking, the first and second correction lamps 10, 11 are lighted and a signal level difference of received light signals outputted from the CDS 8 is detected upon the lighting of the lamps. In this instance, the signal level difference between the received signals is proportional to the light reception sensitivity of the CDS 8 so that variations of the light reception sensitivity of the CDS 8 is corrected by detecting the signal level difference.
