PURPOSE: To provide a packing device for liquid crystal panel or the like, which is fabricated extremely easily using the least possible amount of the material and is so formed as to provide the necessary cushioning performance without using the cushioning material made of synthetic resin such as foaming polystyrol.

CONSTITUTION: A packing device consists of a plurality of dual packing units 201 for connecting in a folding way the two packing units each of which has its sheet material folded in two to hold plate-like articles to be packed between the sheet materials, cushioning base parts 202 having formed at predetermined intervals a plurality of inserting slits for receiving the lower parts of the plurality of the dual packing units to retain the dual packing units in a standing position and unit connecting members 203 laid across and engageable with the upper parts of the plurality of the dual packing units disposed in upright and side by side in the cushioning base part.
