Abstract:
PURPOSE: To accurately read even unflat originals such as books and document files, etc.
CONSTITUTION: This image reader 10 is provided with contact type image sensors 12a and 12b, a hinge 16 for rotatably connecting the contact type image sensors 12a and 12b so as to rectilinearly line optical sensors and an elastic buffer tool 17 for holding the contact type image sensors 12a and 12b while they are extended in a V-shape with the hinge 16 as the center. This elastic buffer tool 17 is constituted of a supporting plate 20 fixed to the rotary shaft 18 of the hinge 16 on the side of the back surfaces 15a and 15b of the contact type image sensors 12a and 12b and coil springs 22a and 22b for respectively connecting the supporting plate 20 and the contact type image sensors 12a and 12b.
