PURPOSE: To provide a wire saw which is enriched in flexibility of a spacer part and difficult to cause a gap between a cutting edge body and the spacer and also excellent in wear resistance.

CONSTITUTION: A wire saw 1 is provided with a wire 2 being a metallic twisting wire, many cylindrical cutting edge bodies 3 and spacers 4 made of resin. The abrasive grain layers for cutting are formed on the external circumferences of the cutting edge bodies 3 inserted into the wire 2 at the specified intervals. The spacers 4 made of resin are interposed between the cutting edge bodies 3 and the wire 2 is covered therewith. In the wire saw 1, cuts 10 are formed in the spacers 4. Thereby flexibility is given between the cutting edge bodies 3, 3 at a time for cutting work even in the spacers 4 made of resin owing to the presence of the cuts 10. Moreover a gap is difficult to be caused between the cutting edge bodies 3 and the spacers 4 and chips or the like are prevented from being caught therein. Further wear resistance is excellent because of the spacers made of resin in comparison with a spacer made of rubber.
