PURPOSE: To reduce the size of an automatic paper feeding device and permit the resist mating of a recording material to be utilized by making a paper feeding sequence to be repeated many times and also making a point for releasing paper feeding force during paper feeding.
CONSTITUTION: A disadvantageous case possibly exists that a recording material 3 can not be fed to the transfer roller 4 by only an automatic paper feeding device and a sequence because of pursuing a reduction of the apparatus in size and further of positioning a roller apart from a material 3 to be recorded. Herein, the defect can be prevented by repeating the sequence twice unconditionally. As the material 3 to be recorded reaches the contact point between the roller 4 and the pinch roller 8 at the time of a second performance of the sequence, by driving a paper feeding motor 5 and rotating the roller 4 simultaneously with the paper feeding operation of a spare roller and a separation roller prior to the fixed times after the completion of the second performance, the material 3 to be recorded can be fed positively. In this instance, a part can be secured for drawing paper feeding force from the material 3 to be recorded between the first time and the second time by carrying out the sequence twice, and this is also effective for conducting the resist mating of the material 3 to be recorded.
