PURPOSE: To increase the coefficient of friction for lessening the lowering rate of bolt shaft force by applying an epoxy resin plate based on grass fiber unwoven cloth to an insulating plate to be inserted between the friction faces of an insulating high strength bolt joint.
CONSTITUTION: First the fastening force of a high strength bolt 33 is enlarged to generate large tensile axial force, and stress is transmitted through frictional force caused by compressive force generated in a joining steel plate 31 (base metal) as the reaction force to the above tensile force, and an insulating high strength bolt joint is composed in the above structure. The surface of the axial part of the high strength bolt 33 is covered with insulating material 35. Next, an epoxy resin plate 34 based on a grass fiber un woven cloth having the thickness from 0.1mm to 0.7mm between a joining steel plate 31 and a splice steel plate 32 to insulate conductivity. In addition, the similar process is executed between the splice steel plate 32 and the other joining steel plate 31 to insulate between the above steel plates. Thus the insulated high strength bolt joint which has high insulating ability, the coefficient of friction being above 0.4 and the bolt axial lowering rate being above 90% can be formed.
