PURPOSE: To provide a switching valve capable of coping with a large flow via a fine valve gap directly moved by a solid actuator by two disk-like members formed with holes having a special shape.

CONSTITUTION: When a solid actuator 7 is shrunk, a valve element 9 is brought into contact with a valve seat 4 by the elastic expanding force of an outward return spring 11, and a valve is closed. When the solid actuator 7 is extended, the valve element 9 is separated from the valve seat 4, and the valve is opened. Communicating holes 10, 5 formed on the valve element 9 and the valve seat 4 have a fine width shape respectively, their peripheral lengths are large, and a valve can cope with a large flow with a small valve gap. No double- displacement mechanism is required between the solid actuator 7 and the valve element 9.
