Title:
IGNITION DEVICE FOR MULTICYLINDER ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3049120
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To seemingly advance or retard the ignition timing in a desired engine speed over the distribution range so at to set optimum ignition timing in the wide operating condition of the engine, even in case of a multicylinder engine 1 having the small distribution range of a distributor.
CONSTITUTION: In an engine 1 capable of changing the valve timing of intake/ exhaust valves by changing respective phase differences between timing pulleys 16 and camshafts 10/12 drivingly connected to the crankshaft 8, a crank angle sensor 31 is arranged on the crankshaft or on the side of a pulley rotating in no phase difference with the crankshaft, and one distributor 35 is connected to the side of the camshaft by which the valve timing in the desired engine speed is shifted to advanced timing/retarded timing from that of the normal condition.
