PURPOSE: To mold a peripheral edge part by forming an excessive clay part to the outside of a peripheral edge scheduled part across a thin-walled part through a gypsum mold at the time of potter's wheel molding and rotating the mold to peel off the excessive clay part through the thin-walled part by a removing jig to form the peripheral edge part.

CONSTITUTION: At the time of potter's wheel molding, an excessive clay part 96 is formed to the outside of a peripheral edge scheduled part 94 across a thin walled part 92 through a gypsum mold 116. The material 90 for ceramics on the gypsum mold 116 is rotated along with the gypsum mold. An excessive clay removing jig 22 is allowed to face to the excessive clay part 96 of the material 90 for ceramics during rotation and the excessive clay part 96 is peeled from the gypsum mold 116 across the thin-walled part 92 through a removing jig 22 to form the peripheral edge part 110 of the material 90 for ceramics. Since the excessive clay part 96 is peeled from the gypsum mold 116 before a drying process, the generation of a crack in the peripheral edge part 110 is prevented.
