Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a porous compact composed of a mineral material having the adequate strength and the excellent water permeability by forming the coating film of water glass on the surface of mineral material particles, press molding it and calcining the molded material.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of at least one kind among the mineral material, ceramic particles or glass particles is mixed with water glass and is dried by blowing hot air to form the coating film. Then, it is press-molded and the molded material is fired by heating. A pulverized natural stone (e.g. rhyolite, obsidian, pearlite, etc.) 0.1-5mm in particle diameter is used as the mineral material. The ceramic particles and the glass particles having the same particle diameter are used.
