Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an acoustic scanning method consisting of transmitting acoustic pressure waves and received echoes of them which are scanned along a converter array and which enter into acoustic-line groups to be generated respectively at a point of intersection with the plane of the converter array. CONSTITUTION: Individual scanning lines are not placed on the plane of the converter array, and pass through a common variable peak located in a distance possible to select behind this plane for expanding the field of view. The position of the variable peak is selected so that the field of view of a certain converter about geometric configuration may become optimum and is selected so that the operation angle for the line rectangular with the line connecting the elements of the converter would not exceed the possible maximum value in the sectoral scanning lines.
