Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate a catalyst component from an elastomeric olefinic copolymer obtd. by the suspension polymn. of ethylene and propylene or ethylene, propylene, and a nonconjugated diene in a hydrocarbon.

CONSTITUTION: An org. solvent having a solubility parameter of 7.3-9.5 is added to the polymn. system before and during and/or after the polymn., and 0. 2-100 pts.wt. alcohol (based on 1 pt.wt. the resulting olefin copolymer) is added to the system after the polymn.
