Abstract:

PURPOSE: To previously prevent any divergent behavior of a vehicle by discriminating the inrush of a vehicle into a limit condition in which the vehicle replies nonlinearly against the steering and the inrush into a panic condition generated by excessive steering under the limit condition.

CONSTITUTION: When the sign of a handle steering speed is different from the sign of the rate of change in a yaw rate, a vehicle is discriminated to rush in a limit condition (S8, S9), and when the handle steering quantity from the time point rushing under the limit condition exceeds a threshold value (S11, S14) while the vehicle is in the limit condition, a panic flag is set to be a decided value for showing the inrush into a panic condition.
