PURPOSE: To eliminate unfavorable impression of a caller by receiving a transfer call while an extension of a transfer destination holds the transmission call so as to save trouble of the transfer.

CONSTITUTION: An extension telephone set A calls an extension telephone set C forming p multi-line, and the operator of the extension telephone set A informs of the transfer of a call B from an external line telephone set B and talking purpose of the call B and a name of the opposite party to the telephone set C. In this case, a CPU 1 stores it to a holding party information memory 2-1 of a storage device 2 that the call B from the external line telephone set B is under holding for the transfer. When the extension telephone set A is restored, the extension telephone set C is connected while holding the call B from the external line telephone set B. Then the operator of the telephone set C receiving a contact from the extension telephone set A informs it to an opposite party of the talking object in the call B from the external line telephone set B that a phone call comes, and the opposite party of the talking purpose in the call B from the external line telephone set B uses an extension telephone set D located nearby the extension telephone set C in multi-line therewith to release the holding and to reply the call.
