Abstract:
PURPOSE: To apply a heat insulating material by a simple method to a deck plate constituting the floating roof of a floating roof-type tank.
CONSTITUTION: The frame members 4 of a heat insulating material having fire resistance and flexibility but no water absorption properties are bonded by adhesive to a deck plate 1 constituting the floating roof of a floating roof- type tank, phenol-modified urethane foam raw material is sprayed on the inside of the deck plate partitioned by the frame members 4 so that a heat insulating barrier 7 is formed, and butyl rubber moistureproof paint and chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber moistureproof paint are successively sprayed upon the barrier 7 so that a waterproof and fireproof film 8 is formed. Thus, the adiabatic application to the deck plate, which is easily deformed in the manner of undulating by wind pressure, etc., is performed with ease. Also, when the phenol- deformed urethane foam raw material is used, the raw material indicates a weak alkalinity at the time of coming into contact with water so that there is no possibility of accelerating the corrosion of the deck plate. Further, when the three spraying materials are colored differently, the insufficiency of thickness at the time of application can be confirmed visually.
