Abstract:
PURPOSE: To intercept noise produced at a fuel injection nozzle by arranging the fuel injection nozzle in the interior of the space surrounded by the upper part of an engine looking toward the can shaft direction, an air cleaner arranged above the upper part of the engine and an intake air passage connecting to all of these parts.
CONSTITUTION: An air cleaner 12 is arranged on the upper part of an engine. The air cleaner 12 is connected to an intake air port 8 on a cylinder head 1 through an intake air passage 4 composed of a bell-mouth 11, a throttle valve 10 and an intake pipe 9. The intake pipe 9 has a fuel injection nozzle 13 arranged thereon. In this case, the fuel injection nozzle 13 is arranged in the interior of a space S surrounded by the intake pipe 9, the throttle valve 10, the bell-mouth 11, the air cleaner 12 and the upper part of the engine looking toward the can shaft direction. Thus noise produced at the fuel injection nozzle 13, or in other words, the knocking noise occurring when an electromagnetic valve is opened and closed, is intercepted by the upper part of the engine, the air cleaner 12 and the intake air passage 4.
