PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal phase control element for wobbling which exhibits a good memory characteristic and contrast and has drastically improved responsiveness by making it possible to surely and easily produce the element and to sufficiently preventing the intrusion of ions in particularly the stage when the intrusion of the ions is liable to arise in the process for production of the liquid crystal element by first and second disposition.
CONSTITUTION: This process for production of the phase control element 3 for wobbling has a stage for forming optically transparent electrodes 13, 14 on optically transparent substrates 20, 21, a stage for forming oriented films on these electrodes, a stage for conducting the first disposition to prevent the intrusion of the ions before formation of the oriented films, a stage for disposing the plural substrates 20, 21 to face each other on the oriented film side after the formation of the oriented films and adhering the substrates to each other apart a specified spacing placed therebetween, a stage for injecting the liquid crystals 15 into this spacing, a stage for conducting the second disposition to prevent the intrusion of the ions prior to injection of the liquid crystal 15 and a stage for sealing at least a liquid crystal injection port after injection of the liquid crystal 15.
