PURPOSE: To surely rearrange pages through easy operation.

CONSTITUTION: Once an operator specifies optional pages to be rearranged in a document in a storage buffer 44, from a keyboard 2 a control part 1 displays the pages on the screen of a CRT 6 from the storage buffer 44 by a display control part 6 through a page buffer 43. Then the control part 1 sets and displays tag paper in the respective pages displayed on the screen at position that the operator specifieds from the keyboard 2 and saves data regarding the tag paper in a tag paper area data storage table 42. Then the control part 1 rearranges the page numbers in the storage table 42, for example, in the order of the setting positions of the tag paper attached to the respective pages, reads the document of the corresponding pages out of the storage buffer 44 in the page order, and stores them in a work buffer 41 in order and then puts the document back to the storage buffer 44, thus rearranging the document.
