PURPOSE: To diminish an uncomfortable feeling by a method wherein first and second room temperature detectors which are located at different elevations are provided, a fan is brought in operation and a compressor is stopped when the output from the first or second detector is not less than a specified value and the difference between the outputs of the first and second detectors is a specified value or higher, and the compressor is re-started when the output of the first or second detector is not higher than a specified value.
CONSTITUTION: For example, upper and lower part room temperatures T1 and T2 are detected by thermistors 5 and 10 at one-minute intervals, and heating operation is continued when T2 is not higher than 15°C. and both fan and compressor are stopped when T2 exceeds 15°C and T1 exceeds a set point TS. When T1 is not higher than TS and differential temperature between T1 and T2 is less than 3°C, for example, heating operation is continued, and when it is 3°C or higher, the fan remains operated and the compressor is stopped. The fan is operated until T2 drops below 15°C and the compressor is re-started when T2 drops below 15°C. When the differential temperatures between upper and lower parts in a room are kept within 3°C or lower, it is allowable for a large majority and a comfortable heating operation can be attained.
