Abstract:
PURPOSE: To exhibit a good anti-ratcheting characteristic and to prevent an interference generation between teeth by forming a flank surface of a tooth of a cross section in a longitudinal direction of a sprocket to a specific tractrix curve shape.
CONSTITUTION: A main portion 110 of flank surfaces 112, 114 of belt teeth engaged with respective sprocket teeth is made to a tractrix curve represented by a formula and is transited to a belt tooth tip end 116 using a continuous portion of the tractrix curve. The belt teeth 118 are completely engaged with a groove 120 of the sprocket 112 at a ration of h/b=0.695. When belt teeth 128 are inserted to a sprocket groove 130, a contact and a tangential sliding contact are caused between the flank surface 124 of the belt tooth and a sprocket tooth 126. Thereby, the belt has an excellent anti-ratcheting characteristic by the relatively sharp flank surface 124 and an interference of the belt teeth 118 is not at all caused to realize a smooth operation.
