Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily branch the above tape-shaped optical fiber to plural optical fibers by providing a constriction to a covering layer between a piece of the plural optical fibers and the other optical fiber on one side of said optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:The tape-shaped optical fiber is constituted of 4 pieces of the optical fibers. Coating layers 2a, 2b of the fibers on one side and coating layers 2c, 2d of the fibers on the other side are in contact with each other and are parted at a specified spacing. The covering layer 3 which integrates 4 pieces of the optical fibers is constricted in this spacing part. The tape-shaped optical fiber is thereby easily branched to two pieces of the optical fibers.
