Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an image retaining member having high electrostatic contrast at the time of copying and to reduce the cost of production of the member by reducing the amt. of relatively expensive electric conductive particles used.
CONSTITUTION: When an electric charge generating layer 2 is formed on the electric conductive surface of a substrate 1 and a thermosoftening layer 4 contg. an electric charge transferring material and thermosoftening softening resin is formed on the layer 2 to produce an image retaining member, a particle layer is formed near the surface of the layer 4 by embedding electric conductive particles 5 and insulating particles 8.
