PURPOSE: To obtain a double layer Zn alloy plated steel sheet particularly excellent in corrosion resistance as compared with conventional galvanized steel sheet and also having superior workability.
CONSTITUTION: As a primary layer, a Cr layer L1 is formed on the surface of a steel S as substrate by means of electroplating, vapor deposition, etc. Subsequently, a Zn-Al alloy layer L2 is formed by vapor-depositing Mg and Zn and alloying both. It is preferable to regulate the thickness of the Cr layer L1 to ≥0.01μm. Mg content in the Zn-Mg alloy layer L2 is specified to ≤4wt.% in order to secure formability. By this method, superior corrosion resistance can be obtained by means of the Cr layer L1, and as a result, Mg content in the Zn-Mg alloy layer L2 can be reduced and formability can be improved.
