PURPOSE: To cool multiple batteries sufficiently by embedding a coolant pipeline in a bottom plate and partitioning plates of a battery case, which is formed of a bottom plate, side walls and a cap plate and which houses batteries between the partitioning plates arranged inside thereof.
CONSTITUTION: In a battery case, side walls 2 are stood along the peripheral edge of a bottom plate 1, and plural partitioning plates 7 are provided in parallel with each other inside thereof to house batteries 8. A cap plate is provided in the upper part of the battery case, and a coolant pipeline 26 is embedded in the bottom plate 1 and the partitioning plates 7. The cooling medium is flowed in this coolant pipeline 26 to cool the multiple batteries through the bottom of the battery, which contacts with the bottom plate 1, and the side wall of the battery, which contacts with the partitioning plates 7. Since a wide cooling area can be obtained, the necessary and the sufficient cooling is performed. Furthermore, a battery case can be reduced in weight by using a honeycomb plate made of aluminium alloy and a hollow shape material as the bottom plate 1 and the parttitioning palates 7.
