PURPOSE: To provide an earmark having a specific structure to enable the removal of an ear-punching sharp member from ear after punching and, accordingly, allowing the movement of a cattle by holding the eat without hurting the cattle and safe to the biting of the earmark by another cattle.
CONSTITUTION: A punching member 2 having a punch-performing part 2c at the tip of a column 2b standing from an ear-backing plate 2a and an identification tag 1 having a hooking hole 1a are attached to two end parts constituting the pinching part of a pair of forceps. An ear 100 of an animal is positioned between the punching member 2 and the tag 1 and the forceps are closed. The sharp member 2c" constituting the punch-performing part 2c makes a hole on the ear 100 and moves forward while expanding the hooking hole 1a of the identification tag 1. The forceps are removed when the stepped part 2h between the protruded part 2c' of the punch-performing part 2c and the column part 2b is protruded from the hooking hole 1a. Finally, the sharp member 2c" at the tip end is removed from the protruded part 2c' to hook the protruded part 2c' on the edge of the hooking hole 1a of the identification tag 1 to complete the attaching of the earmark A to the animal.
