Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an alloy of a light weight and excellent hydrogen storage property by specifying a specified phase as main component. SOLUTION: The phase is shown by AB2 C9 . A consists of at least one kind among rare earth elements, B consists of at least one kind among alkali earth metals, C consists of at least one kind among Co, Mn, Fe, Cu, Cr, Si, Al and Ni. An alloy raw material, which is shown by a composition formula AxByCz (here, A consists of at least one kind among rare earth elements, B consists of at least one kind among alkali earth metals, C consists of at least one kind among Co, Mn, Fe, Cu, Cr, Si, Al and Ni. 0.5<=x<=1.5, 1.5<=y<=2.5, 6<=z<=12), is preferably reacted/sintered at 800-1200 deg.C. At least one kind among rear earth element-nickel alloys and alkali earth metal-nickel alloys is preferably used for part of an alloy raw material.
