Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable a light spectrum to be observed with a high resolution over a wide frequency range in a light spectrum analyzer using a fiber ring type resonator. CONSTITUTION:A light amplifier 3 is provided within a fiber ring type resonator, thus enabling light loss at each portion to be compensated and resonance property to be improved. Also, a bi-directional isolator assembly 4 is provided, a slight difference in a light path length of the resonator in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions is generated, a resonance light which is input from an optical fiber coupler (A) 1 and is rotated in one direction is taken from an optical fiber coupler (B) 2, and then it is input from a third optical fiber coupler 8 so that resonance in inverse direction as compared from the above results after passing through an isolator 7, thus enabling the resonance light to pass through a resonator where a free spectrum range is slightly different in series, an effective dynamic range to be expanded, observation at a wide frequency range to be made, and at the same time an effective fitness to be drastically improved by narrowing a line width of the resonator, and a high resolution to be obtained.
