Title:
DISCHARGE DEVICE FOR BOOKBINDING MACHINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3046976
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To conserve a space by a method wherein the book body falling from a clamper is received by an up-and-down movable conveyor and transferred to a fixed conveyor by lowering the up-and-down movable conveyor to be fed and the up-and- down movable conveyor is raised to the original position after the completion of the transfer of the book body.
CONSTITUTION: When a clamper 1 clamps a book body 2 to reach a discharge position, a shaft 6 moves to release the clamping of the book body 2. At the same time, a rotary shaft 11 is rotated to rotate an arm 14 in a counterclockwise direction through a cam 12 and an up-and-down movable conveyor 9 begins to fall. By this constitution, the book body 2 is received by the up-and-down movable conveyor 9 without receiving an impact. The up-and-down movable conveyor 9 falls to move in the moving direction of the clamper 1. Therefore, the book body 2 is obliquely downwardly moved in the moving direction of the clamper 1 and reasonably delivered to the up-and-down movable conveyor 9 to be moved to the lowermost position. During this period, a cover 3 is applied to the book body 2 by an erection mechanism. Subsequently, the leading end of the book body is placed on the fixed conveyor 30 running a slightly faster speed to be fed by the fixed conveyor 30. After the completion of the transfer of the book body, the up-and-down movable conveyor 9 returns to the original position.
