Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prolong a life by restraining the abrasion and damage of/to a surface at the time of rolling contact, etc., following the slide of a roller and also dimensional enlargement due to the of the roller.
CONSTITUTION: Cement steel is adopted as the raw material of the roller 7a of a roller cam follower 7, the surface hardness of the cement steel is set to 63-68 in Rockwell C hardness (HRC), and sldo surface residual austenite quantity (γR) is set to 13-30%. Consequently the surface part of the roller 7a has appropriate hardness and also appropriate toughness, providing stabilized structure wherein the residual austenite is difficult to be martensite-transformed.
