PURPOSE: To obtain an intermittent injection combustion device capable of effectively suppressing noises to be caused by intermittent ignition sound by introducing a non-combustible gas within a predetermined range in the vicinity of a nozzle.
CONSTITUTION: A conical partitioning wall 14 assuming an angle of inclination of about 45° is provided at a tip end of a fuel feed pipe 2. The partitioning wall 14 has a nozzle 5 as the apex of a cone and partitions the cone from the external side in a range of distance l from the nozzle 5. Further, a plurality of introducing ports 20 for a non-combustible gas are provided in the partitioning wall 14. As the non-combustible gas, an inert gas e.g. an exhaust gas in a combustion chamber 10 is utilized. Thus, air 12 blown to the combustion chamber 10 is shut off by the partitioning wall 14, and the non-combustible gas is injected into the inside of the partitioning wall 14 through the introducing ports 20. As a result, even when fuel is injected from the nozzle 5, atomized fuel in the inside of the partitioning wall 14 is not ignited by flames 13 in a combustion zone 11. Accordingly, ignition sound to occur at the time of fuel injection can be prevented.
