PURPOSE: To read a colored image using OCR by providing a microcapsule layer, printed locally using an ink containing a coloring agent, where a colored body generates in a near infrared area of 700-1000nm on a support.

CONSTITUTION: A microcapsule containing a coloring agent which does not generate a colored body having a substantially absorptive effect, is manufactured in a near infrared area of 700-1000nm of crystal violet lactone, using a means such as a surface polymerization method. Next, this microcapsule is dispersed in an aqueous solution such as a water-soluble binder to prepare a microcapsule application liquid containing a coloring agent. Further, this microcapsule application liquid is applied to a support such as a top sheet or an intermediate sheet, and then is dried to form a laminated microcapsule layer. After that, a divinylphthalid compound which generates a colored body having an absorptive effect in the near infrared area of 700-1000nm, is locally printed on the microcapsule layer using a means such as offset printing to prepare a pressure-sensitive recording sheet.
