Abstract:

PURPOSE: To efficiently reduce and evaporate the zinc in zinc-contg. dust and recover the zinc and iron in the dust at a high recovery rate.
CONSTITUTION: The zinc-contg. dust is charged in the form of agglomerate 61 onto the molten iron 62 at the time of charging the zinc-contg. dust to the molten iron 62 to reduce the zinc oxide in the dust, then evaporating the zinc and capturing and recovering the evaporated zinc. The scatter of the charged zinc-contg. dust is no longer generated by charging the agglomerate, by which the reactivity of the dust is increased. Further, various kinds of powders are incorporated into the agglomerate to progress a reduction reaction with higher efficiency at the time of producing the agglomerate. The powders to be incorporated into the agglomerate are carbonaceous materials for accelerating the reduction reaction, cement for preventing the scatter by destruction and powdering of the grains by increasing the strength of the agglomerate, metal iron for accelerating the reduction reaction by enhancing the thermal conductivity of the grains of the agglomerate, etc.
