Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent dedoping of dye molecules contained in polymer micro spheres, by directly coupling dye contained in polymer micro spheres to polymer moleclues by chemical bonding such as ion bond and covalent bond.

CONSTITUTION: Dye 2 is chemically bonded to polymer molecules in polymer micro spheres 1. In the case of ion bond, negative charges are imparted to the polymer chains of the polymer fine particles like methyl methacrylate. On the other hand, postive charges of opposite polarity which dye like rhodamine 6G has are used, and the dye is chemically coupled to polymer particles by the coupling of positive charges and negative charges. In the case of covalent bond, dye to which reactive groups are previously imparted is made to react with the polymer chains of polymer fine spheres like methyl methacrylate, and the dye is chemically coupled to polymer molecules. Thereby dedoping of dye molecules can be prevented.
