PURPOSE: To maintain the peripheral speed of a raking in reel relatively to the ground surface within a proper range as much as possible in starting the reaping operation after travel in a butt regardless of the skill-fullness, etc., of an operator.

CONSTITUTION: This combine harvester is equipped with a raking in reel 9 capable of rotating around the axial center in the transverse width direction of a car body and thereby raking in the ear tip side of a grain culm which is an object of reaping to the rear side of the car body, a reaping state sensing means (S5) for sensing whether the operation is in a reaping state or not and a car speed sensing means (S4) for sensing the car speed. A controlling means 100 capable of controlling the rotational frequency of the raking in reel to a larger one with increasing car speed memorizes the car speed when the operation is changed from an unreaping state into a reaping state and controls the rotational frequency of the raking in reel 9 by using the reel rotational frequency corresponding to the previously memorized car speed information as the target rotational frequency when the operation is in the unreaping state.
