PURPOSE: To produce the sample of TGSCC using a process producing the sample of IGSCC.

CONSTITUTION: A stainless steel piping material with carbon content of 0.05% or more is selected (1) and short pipes made of the selected stainless steel piping material are mutually butted to be welded over the entire peripheries thereof (2). When a flaw is locally introduced (3), a part where a flaw is desired to be introduced is subjected to gouging with grinder to effect repairing welding in order to partially increase tensile residual stress and a heat affected part due to welding is made sensitive (4). When a deep flaw is desired (5), I/IHSI is performed. A clevis jig is attached to an object to be tested in the vicinity of the joint welding part of the inner surface thereof (6) and the object to be tested is held in water (e.g. tap water) to which a chlorine ion is added, for 500-2000hr under a high temp. and high pressure condition.
