Abstract:

PURPOSE: To control a purge flow amount and an air fuel ratio correctly, and also detect abnormal condition of a mass flow meter easily.

CONSTITUTION: A flow meter 22 is interposed in a purge passage 20 so as to control the opening degree of a purge control valve 21 on the basis of the output value of the flow meter 22 and the found out value of a purge flow. The atmosphere is supplied into the flow meter 22 under a prescribed condition so as to judge abnormal condition in the flow meter 22.
