PURPOSE: To provide a chip eliminator that is effective for chip elimination or the like in time of slitting a deep groove, in a machine tool with an automatic tool changer in particular.

CONSTITUTION: This chip eliminator featured a movable duct 15 engaged or disengaged to or from a spindle tool T from one side of a spindle 6 is connected to a relay duct 14 tightly set to a spindle head 2 or the like, while a blowoff nozzle 20 for chip scattering prevention, etc., and another blowoff nozzle for a deep groove are installed on an inner wall at a tip of this movable duct 15, and further a dust collector (unillustrated herein) for suction use is installed in the rear of this movable duct, through which it is made so as to be returned and moved to a position where there is no interference at the time of tool changing operation.
