PURPOSE: To provide a foamed hair cosmetic which shows markedly improved hair gloss, smoothness and innocence of oil in the finishment as well as high foam stability.

CONSTITUTION: This foamed hair cosmetic comprises (A) 0.3 to 3wt.% of one or more of silicones of formula I [all of the R1 are methyl or a part of them are phenyl, but more than 90% of R1 is methyl); R2 is methyl, OH; (m) is 1,300 to 2,200], (B) 1 to 7% of one or more silicones of formula II ((n) is 100 to 300), (C) a nonionic surfactant, preferably polyoxyethylene (80 E.O.)-hardened castor oil, (D) the rest amounts of water, and in addition contains (E) 2 to 12% of a propellant such as propane, liquefied petroleum gas, diemthyl ether. The polymerization degree (m) of the silicone of formula I is preferably 1,400 to 2,000, while that of formula II (n) is 150 to 250. The preferable formulation of the components is A=0.5 to 2%, B=2 to 5%, C=0.5 to 3% and E=4 to 8%, respectively.
