Title:
THERMAL TRANSFER RECORDING MEDIUM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0577559
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a thermal transfer recording medium, which is transferred easily by small energy, enables distinct printing even on paper having low smoothness and has excellent image resistance.

CONSTITUTION: In a thermal transfer recording medium, in which a first ink layer 3 using heat-fusing fine particles as a main component is formed onto a support and a second ink layer 4 is formed onto the first ink layer 3, the first ink layer 3 is filled with the heat-fusing fine particles, and air gaps are formed among fine particles. Voids of 5-30vol% is proper, wax is employed as the principal ingredient of the heat-fusing fine particles, and wax having the mean particle size of 0.5-3.0μm of fine particles and the rate of penetration of 2 or less at 25°C is preferable. Heat-fusing fine particles of mean particle size of 0.5-3.0μm are included in the first ink layer 3, and heat-fusing fine particles having mean particle size smaller than said mean particle size is contained in the second ink layer.
