Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain zeolite L crystallite having low alkalinity and high crystallinity by adding a certain amount of metal to a synthetic gel in the preparation of pilaster zeolite L for heating an alkaline reacting mixture containing water, an alkali metal source, a silicon source and an Al source.
SOLUTION: A reacting mixture is prepared which has a composition comprising water, an alkali metal source, a silicon source, an Al source and an additional metal M11 source by the mole ratio (as an oxide) of (M12+M112/nO)/SiO2: 0.18 to 0.36, H2O(M12+M112/nO): 25 to 90, Si2O3/Al2O3: 5 to 15, M12O/(M12+ M112/nO): 0.900 to 0.9999. The reacting mixture is heated to 75°C or above, preferably to 100 to 250°C, more preferably to 120 to 225°C. In the formulas, M1 is alkali metal, M11 is cation of Mg, Ca, Ba, Mn, Cr, Co, Ni or Zn and n is atomic valence of M11.
