Title:
LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0534728
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To omit a transparent substrate and to reduce the thickness and weight of the above device by directly depositing transparent electrodes onto a high-polymer dispersion type liquid crystal. CONSTITUTION:A high-polymer dispersion type liquid crystal layer 13 is formed on a substrate 11 on which a matrix 12 is formed. This liquid crystal layer 13 is formed to a film shape by applying the high-polymer dispersion type liquid crystal 14 by spin coating, then by curing the coating. The transparent electrodes 15 for display are formed by a sputtering method or printing method on the liquid crystal layer 13. The electrodes of an external circuit board 18 are connected via conductive paste 17 to the transparent electrodes 15. Namely, the transparent electrodes 15 for display can be directly formed on the film (liquid crystal layer) by forming the high-polymer dispersion type liquid crystal film on the substrate 11. The need for another substrate facing the substrate 11 is eliminated in this way and the size and weight are correspondingly reduced.
