Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a variable attenuator enabling execution of highly precise setting, by a method wherein set errors of the attenuator under various conditions are measured automatically and stored as correction data in a memory and correction is conducted at the time of setting.
CONSTITUTION: Measuring units (a signal generator 1, a digital power meter 2) for measuring errors are made to acquire error correction data by the control of a system controller 3. Storing these data, the system controller 3 executes corrective computation on the basis of the error correction data at the time of setting of an attenuation amount and sends setting data to a PIN attenuator 4 and programmable step attenuators 5 and 6.
