PURPOSE: To provide a uniform flow velocity distribution and ensure the sealing function of a seal packing.
CONSTITUTION: An external manifold type stack having a generating film 21; a fuel electrode side support layer 22 and air electrode side support layer 23 arranged on both surface of the generating film 21 to orthogonally carry fuel gas and air, respectively; and interconnectors 26, 27 arranged on the fuel electrode side support layer 22 and the air electrode side support layer 23 through heat resisting seal packings 24, respectively, is laminated in plural stages to form a plate solid electrolytic fuel cell. The center parts of the seal packings 24, 25 have first opening parts 24a, 25a for fuel gas or air introduction, respectively. On both ends of the seal packings laid along the flowing direction of fuel gas or air, a plurality of second opening parts 28, 29 are provided continuously to the first opening parts 24a, 25a. The second opening parts 28, 29 are alternately shifted in the stage direction of the stacks.
