PURPOSE: To obtain new imino-substd. phenyl derivatives having superior biocidal effects against a wide range of fungi, particularly Ascomycetes and Basidiomycetes, which are used as drugs and soil biocides.
CONSTITUTION: Compounds of formula I [R is H, or a 1-6C alkyl; R1 is H, a 1-4C (halo)alkyl or aryl; Z1 and Z2 are each H, a halogen, 1-4C (halo)alkoxy, 2-4C (halo)alkenyloxy, CN, NO2, 1-4C haloalkyl, 1-6C alkyl or the like; Y is O or an NR3 (R3 is H or a 1-6C alkyl); R2 is H, an alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, arylalkyl, heteroaryl, heteroaryloxyalkyl, heterocyclyl or the like; X is CH2, a CH-1-4C alkyl, CH-1-4C alkoxy, CH-1-4C alkylthio, N-1-4C alkoxy or NOH], such as 2-[methoxyimino-O-(2'-methylphenyl-methyl)]-phenylglyoxylic methyl ester-O-methyl oxime are provided.
