PURPOSE: To provide a hair rinse agent having moderate removability by washing and exhibiting excellent hair-conditioning effect (softness, smoothness, luster and combing smoothness).

CONSTITUTION: The objective hair rinse agent having the above effects can be produced by using (A) an amphoteric surfactant of formula I (R is 12-22C straight or branched-chain alkyl), especially bis(octadecyl-N- hydroxyethylimidazoline)chloroacetic acid complex, (B) one or more silicone compounds of formula II (at least 90% of the total R5 is methyl and the others are phenyl; R6 is methyl; one of R6 may be OH; (n) is integer of 300-800, preferably 400-700) and (C) a polyether compound obtained by the addition polymerization of 5-15mol of propylene oxide to diglycerol as essential components. The amounts of the components A, B and C are 0.5-6wt.%, 1-6wt.% and 0.1-3wt.%, preferably 1.0-4.0wt.%, 2-5wt.% and 0.2-1.5wt.%, based on the total composition, respectively.
