Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the secondary oxidation of molten metal poured into a tundish from a ladle through a pouring tube.
SOLUTION: As for this cover 1 for pouring tube for covering the upper opening part of the pouring tube 6 in the tundish 5, a weight 3 of (t/2-0.5(kg)) to (t/2+1.0(kg)) per a plate thickness (t) (mm) is placed on the upper surface at the one side end of an aluminum plate 2 having 3-8mm thickness. Further, the base end side of an inert gas blowing pipe 4 fitted to the tip part as penetrated state from the upper surface to the lower surface of the aluminum plate 2, is extended in the opposite direction to the weight 3. As for the molten metal pouring method using the cover 1, the molten metal in the ladle is poured into the tundish 5 under condition where inert gas is blown into the inner part of the pouring tube 6 through the iner gas blowing pipe 4 after covering the upper opening part of the pouring tube 6 with the cover 1 tube before starting the pouring of the molten metal.
