Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a resin compsn. which gives a molded item having a fine cotton-like structure and has a good processibility by compounding a synthetic resin with a small amt. of carbon fibers together with a dye, a pigment, a stabilizer, a release agent, a fibrous reinforcement, a flame retardant, and a filler.
CONSTITUTION: This compsn., contg. carbon fibers and colored in pastel, contains 0.3-1.0 wt.% carbon fibers having lengths of 1-6 mm, a dye and a pigment, and, in addition, a stabilizer, a release agent, a fibrous reinforcement, a flame retardant, and 5 wt.% filler. The content of the carbon fibers is pref. 0.4-0.6 wt.%; and the carbon fiber lengths are pref. 3-6 mm. The mechanical properties and processibility (e.g: injection moldability) of the compsn. is hardly affected by the presence of the carbon fibers.
