PURPOSE: To use a brake force adjusting device for a rail traveling vehicle even for the rail traveling vehicle having no specific vehicle bus by allowing transmission of a brake signal to a brake control device by a pressure/electrical signal converter through a main air line rather than through a vehicle bus.

CONSTITUTION: In this brake force adjusting device for a rail traveling vehicle, a measurement signal of a brake torque sensor 11 provided in a brake link mechanism 6 can be transmitted to a brake control device 13. Thereby, the measurement signal can be compared with a target value signal of a target potentiometer 18 obtained through a vehicle bus 15, and the target value difference signal can be transmitted to a brake cylinder 10 through a valve system so as to control the control torque of brake pads 4a, 4b. The brake signal capable of being pneumatically switched through a main air line 71 can be transmitted to the brake control device 13 by a pressure/electrical signal converter 72 connected to the main air line 71 rather than transmitting the brake signal through the vehicle bus 15.
