PURPOSE: To make the reception effective by receiving a mail without operation of a direct mail prevention function when an opposite party is confirmed in the remote reception mode and activating the prevention function when the opposite party is not confirmed.

CONSTITUTION: In the case of the remote reception mode by a remote telephone set 4b, a DTMF generator 5 generates a signal 01, and when a DTMF detection circuit 28 detects the signal 01, it is discriminated that the operator of the opposite party is identified and a direct mail prevention function is invalidated and the call is received. When the circuit 28 detects a signal 02, it is discriminated that the operator of the opposite party is not identified, the direct mail prevention function is validated, and a call is received from opposite parties registered in a one step abbreviated dial registration circuit 36 only. Thus, the direct mail prevention function is properly functioned and effective call reception is implemented.
