Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the title compound useful as a raw material for silicone resin, a surface treating agent of inorganic substance and an additive for complex catalyst in high yield, by reacting trichlorosilane with dimethylbutene in the presence of a specific azo compound as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Trichlorosilane is reacted with 2,3-dimethyl-2-butene in the presence of an azo compound [e.g. 2,2'-azobis(isobutyronitrile)] shown by the formula R-N=N-R (R is alkyl, alkylcyano, alkyl ether cyano or cyclic alkylcyano) as a catalyst preferably at 30-110 deg.C to give the objective compound.
